Nathi Ngubane is a South African writer and illustrator who grew up in Chesterville, a small township in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. He holds a diploma in graphic design from the Durban University of Technology and has worked as a political cartoonist for The Daily Vox and The Citizen News. In 2018, he shifted focus to his brand, Think Ahead Comix.
His first children’s book, Duma Says: Wash your hands, wear a mask!, was published in 2020, followed by Duma Says: Let’s Live!, a collector’s edition with two more stories in the series.
In February 2024, Nathi released a children’s colouring book titled From the River to the Sea, an interactive educational book that provides a gateway into the story of Palestine. His work has been featured on Al Jazeera, AJ+, BBC, Daily Maverick, New Frame, GroundUp, Mail & Guardian and other news media.
