Genmaicha Matcha is Japanese green tea blend with roasted, popped rice and matcha. It has a fresh, nutty and savoury flavour. Historically, it was known as poor man’s tea as the rice acted as a filler to reduce the price of the accompanying premium green tea. Today it is popular for its unique, satisfying flavour.
Brewing instructions
Standard Brew
Add 1 teaspoon of tea to 250ml of 70-80 degree celsius water. Steep for 1- 1.5 minutes. Strain and enjoy your brew.
Cold Brew
Add 1 teaspoon of tea per 250ml of room temperature water to a bottle. Put the bottle in the fridge overnight or for a minimum of 8 hours. Strain and enjoy cold.
